Day 228 - Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

Time for a fresh new luncheon option, methought, occasioning a visit to the Cedar Tree Lebanese restaurant, and it didn't disappoint. Fattoush for starters (chopped parsley, tomato, olive oil, onion) was zestily d'lish, and the lamb meatballs in tomato sauce with rice were sublime. Two courses for €8.95 - a steal!

After work, it was time to get reacquainted with the delights of Tuesday Night Golf Club, where the testing virtual Valderrama course awaited. My form was hot and cold, with 4 birdies but numerous no-score holes, leading to an uncreditable 28 points, and 5th out of five. Victory was grabbed by Conquer, snatching it unceremoniously from the faltering hands of young blade Red to deny him a maiden win. This gave an even finer excuse than usual to make a beeline to The Oarsman for celebratory stouts and ales, followed by a triumphant quarter pounder with cheese and chips which was scoffed during the ecstatic parade home to The Lighthouse.
