Day 180 - Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

180! No true darts fan would be allowed let such a blogging milestone go by unnoticed, and nor have I - guffaw!

The pre-Tour Of Duty socialising continued for a third evening (and a 7th evening in 8) starting at The Church Bar on Mary Street, a wonderful converted church if you have yet to have the pleasure of visiting it. I am delighted to report that the place was heaving at 6pm, indicating that the Satanic Recession continues to bite, although it has laid victim to Wolfe's Artisan Bistro, where I was supposed to dine with Trev and Dazzler, with the aid of a Pigsback voucher entitling us to 3 main courses of our choice for €23 instead of €46. But luckily I visited it before heading to The Church, as its phone had been ringing out for the last couple of days, and lo and behold, the shutters were down, and the proprietors had scarpered in a hurried fashion some days earlier, it did seem.

No matter!, Pigsback would later refund me the cost, and I had Living Social vouchers in reserve!, to nearby Mitsuba Japanese restaurant on Parnell Street, where €20 purchased €50 worth of food and drink. We spent well in excess of that, but utterly delicious it was, with fine Asahi and Kirin beers on offer, tripled with outstandingly good service - well worth attending, without doubt. A brace of nightcaps were enjoyed at the also-packed Grand Central bar before ambling home, with the considerable aid of a taxi.

Wolfed by the recession (ie bad management)
